About Us — The Creative Pause | Where Creativity Meets Intentional Living

Hi, I'm Tina — the hands behind The Creative Pause.

By day, I work in Supply Chain. I spend my hours in spreadsheets, forecasts, and process improvement — a world built on precision, deadlines, and getting things exactly right. It's work I'm good at, and work that doesn't leave a lot of room to slow down.

The Creative Pause started as the antidote to that — but really, it started long before my current job even existed. Over 20 years ago, I was a mom to small kids, and scrapbooking was how I held onto the moments that were flying by. Late nights, naptimes, whatever pockets of time I could find — that's when I first fell in love with paper, photos, and putting a story together by hand. Life got busier, careers happened, and that habit got tucked away for a while. But it never really left.

Somewhere between the deadlines, I found my way back to paper — cutting, layering, journaling, scrapbooking — the kind of slow, hands-on work that asks nothing of you except your attention. No forecasts. No metrics. Just a page, some scraps, and a few quiet minutes that are entirely mine.

Reading found its way back into that same space — I've always been the type to disappear into a book, and somewhere along the way, my love of stories and my love of paper crafting just started blending together. What began as a way to hold onto memories, and later a way to unwind, turned into something I wanted to share: kits and tools that give other people that same pause, whether it's five minutes with a journal prompt, an afternoon spent piecing together a spread, or a quiet night curled up with a book I picked blind.

What we make

Every kit that leaves this shop is handmade and hand-packed — patterns and papers are chosen for a specific mood or story, then curated, cut, and tucked into kraft packaging by hand. That also means every kit is one-of-a-kind. No two are pulled exactly the same way, so what you receive is genuinely yours.

We make journal kits for slow mornings, "blind date with a book" boxes for readers who want a surprise, hand-cut leather journal covers, and the small paper details that make a page feel finished — because we believe creativity doesn't have to be a big production. Sometimes it's just a pause. The Blind Date with a Book kits especially come straight from my own bookshelf habits — I'm the person who reads the back cover, judges it by the vibes, and still ends up mentally attached to the characters for weeks. I wanted to bottle that feeling for other readers too.

The pause is the point

Slow living isn't about doing less — it's about being present for what you're doing. That's what we hope every kit gives you: a reason to sit down, get your hands a little inky, and take a breath before you pick the pace back up.

Thanks for being here — and for taking the pause with us.
