Return & Refund Policy — The Creative Pause

Thank you for shopping with The Creative Pause! Because our kits are handmade in small batches and many contain paper goods, adhesives, and other consumable materials, our return policy looks a little different from a typical retailer. Please read below before placing your order.

Handmade & One-of-a-Kind Items

Every kit we sell is handmade and hand-packed, and no two kits are exactly alike — colors, patterns, and exact ephemera pieces may vary slightly from photos shown. This natural variation is part of the handmade charm and is not considered a defect.

Final Sale Items

Because of the nature of our products, the following are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged:

All junk journal kits, paper packs, and ephemera kits (once opened)
Blind Date with a Book kits
Mystery Grab Bags
Digital downloads and printables
Any item marked "Final Sale" at checkout

Eligible Returns

We accept returns on the following, within 14 days of delivery:

Handmade leather journal covers, if unused and in original condition
Charms and add-ons, if unused and in original packaging

To be eligible, the item must be unused, in its original condition, and in the original packaging. Please email us at thecreativepause.studio@gmail.com with your order number to start a return.

Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Items

We carefully inspect and pack every order, but if something arrives damaged, defective, or isn't what you ordered, we'll make it right. Please contact us within 7 days of delivery at thecreativepause.studio@gmail.com with:

Your order number
A photo of the item and the packaging it arrived in

We'll offer a replacement, exchange, or refund depending on the issue and item availability.

Refunds

Once a return is received and inspected, we'll notify you by email whether it's approved. Approved refunds are issued to your original payment method within 5–10 business days. Shipping costs are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error (damaged, defective, or incorrect item).

Exchanges

We're happy to exchange an eligible item for a different size or style, subject to availability. Contact us at thecreativepause.studio@gmail.com to arrange an exchange.

Cancellations

Because our kits are handmade to order in small batches, we can only cancel or modify an order within 12 hours of purchase. After that window, your order may already be in production and cannot be changed.

How to Start a Return

Email thecreativepause.studio@gmail.com with your order number and reason for return.
We'll confirm eligibility and provide return instructions.
Ship the item back in its original packaging (customer is responsible for return shipping unless the item was damaged, defective, or incorrect).
Once received and inspected, we'll process your refund or exchange.
